In the field of history, they exhibit expertise in general history, Slovak history, historical geography, art history, classical auxiliary historical sciences, and related disciplines. They are adept at locating and utilising essential literature to synthesise knowledge in their field of study. Furthermore, they are proficient in working with primary sources from various historical periods. In the realm of journalism, graduates possess skills in radio and television production, emerging media, journalistic methodology, media semiotics, analysis of media content, and media literacy. They are capable of effectively communicating their research findings to both academic and non-academic audiences and defending their conclusions. Throughout their research and writing processes, graduates uphold ethical principles and understand the implications of unethical behaviour. They are also well-versed in the terminology specific to journalism and history.

In accordance with the National Occupational Framework, they are qualified for various roles such as journalists, columnists, editors, reporters, cameramen, presenters, news correspondents, copywriters, and spokespersons, among others.
